For soulful entrepreneurs, business is personal – we’re branding our lifestyle & we’re the CEO. This means that when we’re out of alignment (feeling dissatisfied, frustrated or uninspired), it threatens our operations + profit.
Not long ago, I noticed that my birth chart has Mercury exalted in Virgo. This means that the planet Mercury is in Virgo, where of all 12 signs, it’s most vibrantly expressed. I was delighted to have a “power” placement but also it totally made sense – of course that the planet of communications would thrive in the sign of clarity, conciseness & common-sense.
This got me thinking: I may have a natural gift in my communications but this is also something that anyone can train or nurture if they want to. Anyone struggling with miscommunications, misunderstandings or translating their thoughts into words would benefit from taking a page from Virgo’s rulebook.
So below are the 10 planets of the zodiac & how we can intentionally design ideal conditions in our businesses for them to flourish, based on their exalted placement. I believe each placement (even in fall or detriment) brings something unique to the world. But if they’re holding you back in your career, why not borrow wisdom from the other signs? 😉

When you seek to define your voice, vibe or unique awesomeness (what makes you, you), you’ll find your answers by taking action & following what makes you feel most alive. This isn’t the time to crowd-source opinions or to follow the trends – if you’re feeling confused / unclear, it’s because you’ve veered from your authentic center. The solution will inevitably make you stand out & feel liberating + affirming.
Safety
The Moon corresponds to our physical + emotional needs. It’s exalted in Taurus, the sign of materiality + sensuality.
When you’re feeling ungrounded or insecure, slow down & make yourself comfortable. You’ll need to befriend + accept your fears before you can heal them. Surround yourself with beauty, take your time & get very practical about possible solutions. Do you need to create a budget? Or perhaps get a 20-second hug? Making a plan for your content creation, establishing standard operating procedures (SOP) & focusing on providing value will help you have the most impact with your message. By being intentional, you’ll avoid adding to the noise & being forgettable. Instead, your audience will see themselves in what you’re sharing & they’ll understand the direct connection to your services. This isn’t the time to daydream & wait for the muse / your daemon – draft an outline, be strategic & you’ll inevitably be clear + attract your ideal client.
Relationships
The planet of arts, beauty & fairness, Venus’ area of expertise is harmonious relationships. It’s exalted in Pisces, the sign of intuition, music & unseen worlds.
Whether you want better relationships with your audience, your team or in your personal life, you need to be fluid & adapt as you go. This dynamic will be ever-changing, so you need to listen & be collaborative. It’s not the time to be bossy or too precious – the gift is in the unexpected contribution they can bring to this 3rd thing that is your relationship.
Aligned Action
Go-getter Mars is ready to start anything new. It’s exalted in Capricorn, the sign of consistency + ambition.
In business, if we’re to create something new, we want it to have an impact, not just be a flash in the pan. We want a return on our investment (ROI) & we want to be genuinely helpful. Our career is built from momentum & it’ll leave a legacy if we’re strategic + dedicated. Boundaries are essential to keep our focus. It’s not the time to worry about being judged or staying in our comfort zone – believe in yourself & take that leap!

Jupiter is the planet of adventure + expansiveness, is exalted in Cancer, the sign of self-care & our roots.

It’s the exact same thing for entrepreneurs – the more they listen to their needs & stay true to their values, the easier it’ll be to feel inspired & optimistic about their business. Having a close network of peers (which you can actually text when you need support) will nourish your sense of resilience. Don’t be too rigid or serious with your plans, let your curiosity guide you.

Intellectual Saturn is the taskmaster, the planet of incremental progress towards reaching its goals. It’s exalted in Libra, the sign of committed partnerships.
Here, we’re busting the occidental myth that good work can only be done by us (because we have higher standards &/or we care more). You need to recruit + leverage everyone’s strengths, invite other opinions to find solutions & lean on reliable partners for you to get the best results. It’s not the time to be inflexible or impulsive – we want to create a synergy that’ll carry us with less time + effort.
Innovation
Uranus is a trailblazer & revolutionary. It’s exalted is Scorpio, the sign of intense desires & radical honesty.
Whenever we seek to do something new (adopting new tools, banding with our community to bring change, or adopting perspectives that go against popular culture), we need to be ready to let go of what no longer serves us. If you find it difficult, at some point the pressure will be so great that you won’t be able to ignore it & accepting it will be a relief. When you’re on the verge of change, staying in your comfort zone will only make you feel worse because you’re outgrowing this part of your business. The more we accept the need for change, the easier the transition.

When we’re looking to clarify or update our vision for our life + business, it’s very helpful to come back to what makes us stand out from the crowd & to follow our heart. The more you let yourself be drawn towards ideas + activities that fill you with pleasure & easeful courage, the more aligned you are to your path. Don’t overthink it, let your instincts take over & be playful about it. Soon, you’ll have plenty of new creative ideas & hear your intuition clearly again.
Evolution
Pluto is the alchemist, the planet of change + evolution. It’s exalted in Aries, the sign of independent self & drive.
Having new goals & the vision to bring them to life will only materialize once we take action. Evolution happens because it brings more life + energy to a system. We grow because it feels great to do so. That’s why we’re drawn to learn new things, to heal & to create. The call will come from inside us & we need to do it for ourselves, be a little egoistic. Not everyone will embrace our new version, we may lose followers or clients, but new ones will come.
